Mohd Rafizi bin Ramli

Mohd Rafizi bin Ramli, born on 14 September 1977 in Besut, Terengganu, and raised in Kemaman, is a Malaysian politician. He served as the Minister of Economy from 2022 to 2025 and has been the Member of Parliament for Pandan since 2022, having previously held the seat from 2013 to 2018. A member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), he was their 5th Deputy President from 2022 to 2025, Vice-President from 2014 to 2022, Secretary-General from 2014 to 2016, and Strategic Director from 2010 to 2014. Rafizi is also the founder of the National Oversight and Whistleblowers Centre (NOW) and Invoke Malaysia (INVOKE). He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Leeds and qualified as a chartered accountant with the ICAEW. His early career included roles at an accounting firm in the UK, Petronas (2003-2009), Pharmaniaga (2009), and Chief Executive of the Selangor Economic Advisory Office (until July 2012). He was active in the Reformasi movement since 1998 and engineered the 'Kajang Move' in 2014.
