Sivakumar a/l Varatharaju Naidu

V. Sivakumar, born on 5 December 1970 in Perak, Malaysia, is a Malaysian politician and a prominent member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), which he joined in 1997. He currently serves as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Batu Gajah, a position he has held since May 2013. His significant past roles include serving as the Minister of Human Resources in the Unity Government from December 2022 to December 2023. Earlier in his career, he was a Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Tronoh from March 2008 to May 2013, and notably served as Speaker of the assembly from April 2008 to May 2009, making him the first ethnic Indian to hold a speaker's position in a Malaysian legislature. Prior to his election to state office, he served as a Political Secretary to Ipoh Barat MP M. Kulasegaran. Academically, Sivakumar holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics (specializing in Public Administration) from the University of Malaya (1994), an Associate degree in Insurance Agency Administration from the Life Office Management Association in the United States (2000), a Bachelor's in Legal Philosophy, and a Master's in Business Administration.
