
Tiong King Sing
Tiong King Sing, born 3 September 1961, is a Malaysian politician and businessman. He has served as the Member of Parliament for Bintulu since November 1999 and as Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture since December 2022 in the Unity Government. He is also the President of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) and a Member of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly for Dudong since December 2021. Tiong has held the position of Special Envoy of the Prime Ministers to China since April 2020 and previously to East Asia from January 2014 to June 2018. His political career includes being a member of the Sarawak National Party (SNAP) before joining the Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP), where he served as Treasurer-General, Deputy President (March 2012 - May 2014), and President (May 2014 - November 2017). SPDP was rebranded as PDP in November 2017, and he has been its President since. He was also the 3rd Chairman of the BN Backbenchers Club from April 2008 to June 2013. Following the 2018 general election, PDP left the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition to form Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in June 2018.
