Wan Ahmad Fayhsal bin Wan Ahmad Kamal

Wan Ahmad Fayhsal bin Wan Ahmad Kamal, better known as WAF, was born on 8 May 1987. He is a Malaysian politician currently serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Machang since November 2022. He grew up in Taman Melawati, Kuala Lumpur, and attended Sekolah Menengah Sains Selangor. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) and a Master of Arts in Geopolitics (Territorial Security) from King's College London in January 2019. He also studied Islamic theology, metaphysics, philosophy, ethics, and history at various institutions. His early career included working at PETRONAS as a Business and Strategic Planning Executive and as a Senior Executive at the Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (TERAJU) from April 2010. He also served as an assistant lecturer at Selangor International Islamic University College (KUIS) and a Research Fellow at Putra Business School, Universiti Putra Malaysia. In politics, he was Special Tasks Officer to the Minister of Youth and Sports from late 2018 to early 2020. He was appointed Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports in March 2020 and served until August 2021, and subsequently as Deputy Minister of National Unity from August 2021 to November 2022. He was a Senator from March 2020 until his resignation in November 2022. He became the 2nd Youth Chief of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) in August 2020 and also serves as a Supreme Council Member of BERSATU and Deputy Youth Chief II of Perikatan Nasional.
