Yeo Bee Yin

Yeo Bee Yin is a Malaysian politician and field engineer. Born on 26 May 1983, she grew up in Gomali Estate and Batu Anam, Johor. She holds a First Class Honors degree in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Petronas (2006) and an MPhil in Advanced Chemical Engineering from Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. Yeo began volunteering for the Democratic Action Party (DAP) in February 2012 before officially joining in August 2012. She served as the Member of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly for Damansara Utama from May 2013 to May 2018. In the 2018 general election, she was elected as the Member of Parliament for Bakri, serving from May 2018 to November 2022. From July 2018 to February 2020, she held a ministerial portfolio as the Minister of Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change under the Pakatan Harapan administration. She was also the Assistant National Publicity Secretary of DAP from November 2017 to March 2022. Since November 2022, she has been serving as the Member of Parliament for Puchong. Currently, she also holds several key party positions including the DAP National Publicity Secretary (since March 2025), Deputy Women Chief of DAP (since September 2023), Selangor DAP Secretary (since November 2024), Chief of the DAP Selangor Women's Wing, and Chairperson of the Parliamentary Special Select Committee on Women, Children, and Community Development.
