Mohd. Na'im Mokhtar
Mohd Na'im bin Mokhtar is a Malaysian politician, lawyer, and legal scholar. He currently serves as the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Religious Affairs and as a Senator, both since December 2022. Prior to his ministerial appointment, he was the 4th Chief Judge of the Syariah Court from April 2019 to December 2022. His career includes serving as a Syariah Court Judge in Petaling (1998-2001) and Kuala Lumpur (2001-2003), a research officer at the Syariah Judiciary Department Malaysia (2003-2005), and a law lecturer at the International Islamic University Malaysia. He holds a LLB and Diploma in Syariah Law and Practice from International Islamic University Malaysia, an LLM from the University of London, and a PhD in Syariah from the National University of Malaysia. He is an independent Cabinet minister.
